Philadelphia Wings News Release

The Philadelphia Wings of the National Lacrosse League (NLL) will honor Flyers Hall of Fame goal tender Bernie Parent when they battle the Minnesota Swarm at Wells Fargo Center on Friday, April 6 at 7 p.m.

Attending his first NLL game, Parent will be presented with a customized No. 1 Philadelphia Wings jersey as he serves as honorary face-off prior to the team's final regular season home game. Additionally, Parent will address the Wings players prior to the game as the team seeks to secure a home playoff game with a victory in the first of their two games this weekend.

"I've watched the Wings on television and I love this game," Parent said. "It reminds me so much of the way hockey was played when I played in the mid 70s. It's a good, rough game. That's the way I was brought up and I just love the way it is played."

Parent had a chance encounter with Wings Head Coach Johnny Mouradian in Toronto earlier this season while he was attending the NHL Hall of Fame festivities.

"I met the coach and some of the players in Toronto when I was there for the Hall of Fame. They're a good group of guys and we agreed that I needed to come out to a game," Parent said.

Tickets for Friday's final regular season game can be purchased online at WingsLAX.com or via phone at 215-289-WING.
