Philadelphia Wings Lose to Rochester 14-13: Eliminated

(Rochester, NY) Playing in their first playoff game since 2008, the Philadelphia Wings fell to the Rochester Knighthawks, 14-13, tonight at Blue Cross Arena.

Leading the way for the Wings in the victory were Kevin Crowley with four goals and three assists and Dan Dawson with one goal and five assists. The loss marks the end of the 2012 season for Philadelphia.

The Wings concluded a season in which the team made the playoffs for the first time since 2008. After finishing 5-11 in 2011, the Wings improved to 7-9 in Johnny Mouradian's first season as head coach and a season which added playmakers Dan Dawson and Kevin Crowley.

The Knighthawks were led by Cody Jamieson with two goals and four assists and stellar goal play from goal tender Matt Vinc with 37 saves. Philadelphia tallied seven goals in the third.

Rochester will now play the winner of the Toronto Rock vs. Buffalo Bandits in the second round.
