Philadelphia Soul acquire OL/DL La\'Zerius White

PHILADELPHIA – The Philadelphia Soul announced today they have returned offensive/defensive lineman Mike Ulufale to the Los Angeles Avengers due to an injury, in return they have acquired OL/DL La'Zerius White and a future consideration from the Avengers.

When cleared to return from a shoulder injury, Ulufale will serve as the future consideration portion of the trade.

White (6-4, 330) is known as an exceptional pass blocker and could see action in this weekend's game against the Tampa Bay Storm. The Storm have one of the best pass rushes in the league and have recorded three sacks so far this season. Last year the Storm recorded a league high 29 sacks.

White has spent the first three games of the season for the Avengers on injured reserve. Last season he saw action in 10 games and finished the season with 4.5 tackles and also had a 15-yard TD reception in the fourth quarter of a 65-14 victory over the Buffalo Destroyers (4/18).

A three-year letterman at University of Arkansas, White started at left guard for 35 consecutive games and was a teammate of Soul FB/LB C.J. McLain.

Ulufale was acquired by the Soul in a trade for WR/LB Jeroid Johnson. Johnson was acquired in a trade with the Las Vegas Gladiators for kicker Brian Gowins.

The Soul hit the field this Sunday, February 29th when they travel to Tampa, FL to play the defending Arena Bowl champions, Storm. Kick-off is set for 3:00 p.m. ET. The Soul return to Philadelphia in two weeks when the host the Chicago Rush at the Wachovia Center. Kick-off for that game is set for Noon ET. Both games are scheduled to be broadcast live on NBC Sports (WCAU NBC-10). Tickets for the game are still available.
