Peñaranda up for Save of the Week

WINDSOR, Colo. - Northern Colorado Hailstorm goalkeeper Johan Peñaranda has been nominated for USL League One Fans' Choice Save of the Week for Week 21. This is his third Save of the Week nomination in six weeks, coming after winning in weeks 16 and 18.

In last weekend's game against Forward Madison, Peñaranda was called into action to make multiple saves in the 60th minute. The nomination is for the latter, coming right on the hour mark. A cross sent in by Matheus Cassini found the head of Abdou Mbacke Thiam who directed a shot towards the lower right corner of the goal. Peñaranda was able to put himself in a good position to dive to his left and deny Mbacke Thiam of the opportunity.

The voting for the Week 21 USL League One Fans' Choice Save of the Week is now open.

In addition to Peñaranda's Save of the Week winners back in Week 16 and 18, Thomas Olsen also won Save of the Week in Week 14.

Northern Colorado are back in action Saturday evening, August 27, at 5 p.m. MDT at Legacy Early College in Greenville, South Carolina. The team will play host to league-leading Greenville Triumph SC.
