Petr Pohl Returns To Hounds

November 28, 2007 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Youngstown SteelHounds News Release

YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO - The Youngstown SteelHounds of the Central Hockey League announced today that forward Petr Pohl has been reassigned to the Hounds by the National Hockey League's Columbus Blue Jackets. In a separate transaction, forward Erik Johnson has been traded to the New Mexico Scorpions for future considerations.

Pohl, 21, was recalled to the American Hockey League's Syracuse Crunch on November 15th. In two games he accumulated five penalty minutes. Prior to being moved up to Syracuse the native of Prostejov, Czech Republic had eight goals and 12 assists in just 12 games for the Hounds. He is currently riding an eight game point streak with Youngstown where he has amassed seven goals and 10 assists from October 30th thru November 13th.

Despite not being in the CHL for over a week his 20 points still ranks him in the top 15 for point leaders. Even more impressive is that he is still atop the Central Hockey League's Three Stars leader board.

"It will be great to get Petr back in the line-up," said Head Coach Kevin Kaminski. "He brings great puck pursuit, smart energy, speed and adds depth to our offense."

Pohl returns to the Hounds just in time for another road trip as they visit the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs on Friday, November 30th for an 8:05 start. All Hounds games are available on SteelHounds.com and ESPN Radio 1240.

The Hounds return home on Wednesday, December 12th when they begin a three game series against the Texas Brahmas. Tickets are on sale for as little as $8 and are available by calling the Hounds at (330) 747-PUCK.
