Peterborough Petes News Release

The Peterborough Petes announced today that General Manager David Reid has traded the 9th overall selection in the 2012 CHL Import Draft to the London Knights in exchange for the Knights 2nd round draft pick in the 2013 OHL Priority Selection, the Knights 4th round draft pick in the 2014 OHL Priority Selection and the Knights 7th round draft pick in the 2015 OHL Priority Selection.

"With the large group of returning players we have and the latest acquisitions of Brett Findlay and Francis Menard our depth up front and on the back end is very strong" says General manager David Reid. "The three draft picks we have acquired adds depth to our draft and allows us the flexibility to add players throughout the season or during next year's OHL Priority Selection. With our selection being later in the upcoming CHL Import Draft our options are open for an older one year player who can make an immediate impact or a younger player who has time to develop behind our returning players."

The Petes will select 69th overall in the CHL Import Draft on Wednesday June 27th, 2012. Each CHL member team is limited to two European Players. With the return of 2011 selection Peter Ceresnak the Petes have roster space for one more European player.
