Peterborough Petes News Release
The Peterborough Petes announced this morning that they will be affiliating with the Cobourg Cougars of the Ontario Junior Hockey League.
"The Peterborough Petes are very pleased to begin a new affiliation starting this fall with the Cobourg Cougars Jr. A Hockey Club" says Petes General Manager David Reid. "The Cougars join the Lindsay Muskies as one of our two Ontario Junior Hockey League affiliates for the upcoming season. Cobourg Cougars Director of Hockey Operations Perry Bowles and Head Coach Curtis Hodgins are extremely well respected in the OJHL and will provide an excellent environment for our prospects to develop and reach their hockey goals."
Last season the Petes two affiliates were the Lindsay Muskies and Liftlock Stars. With the merger of the Muskies and Stars this summer, the Petes were in need of another affiliate.
"Our two team affiliation last season was very successful for our players and our working relationship with the Muskies and Stars was first class" says Reid. "Having the opportunity for more of our young prospects to play at the OJHL level and the close proximity of Cobourg to Peterborough allows us a greater opportunity to see their development first hand. I look forward to working closely with both the Cobourg Cougars and the Lindsay Muskies this season and in the future."
