Petes to Honour and Remember on Saturday Night Game against Barrie being played in support of Crohn's and Colitis Canada

(Peterborough, ON) - The Peterborough Petes will honour and remember the men and women who served and sacrificed for our country before Saturday's 7:05pm game against the Barrie Colts.

Pre-game ceremonies will include the playing of the last post (Salvation Army Temple Band Member), moment of silence, lament (Prince Edward Hastings Regiment Piper), and reveille (Salvation Army Temple Band Member). A Canadian Forces veteran will take part in a ceremonial puck drop. Once again this year, Public Address Announcer Gord Gibb has prepared a special tribute that he will read before the game.

Saturday's game is being played in support of Crohn's and Colitis Canada. Fans can purchase pucks for a second intermission chuck-a-puck for a chance to win a one week ROTOSPA hot tub rental, Requip'd Canada prizes, a spa basket, and a Sauce A Puck package. All funds raised will be directed to Crohn's and Colitis research.

Operation Christmas Child will be distributing shoeboxes in the north and east lobbies in support of their annual campaign.

On the ice, the Central Division-leading Barrie Colts will make their only appearance at the PMC this season. The Colts are 6-3-0-1 in their last 10 games, and will face the 67's in Ottawa on Friday night.

The Petes will wrap up the weekend with a matinee match-up with the Steelheads in Mississauga on Sunday, November 5 at 2:00pm. The Petes return home on Sunday, November 12 at 2:05pm to take on the Kingston Frontenacs; the game will be followed by a Russelle Toyota post-game skate. Game tickets are available starting at $8 through the Collins Barrow PMC Box Office, online, or by at phone at (705) 743-3561.
