Petes Community Gathers Virtually for Celebration Event

(Peterborough, ON) - Peterborough Petes players, staff, family, and friends gathered virtually on Thursday, June 24 to celebrate the graduating players and introduce new prospects. Despite the 2020-21 season cancellation due to the COVID-19 pandemic, four awards were given out to deserving members of the organization.

Hosted by Global News Reporter Katrina Squazzin, the virtual event included speeches from President Dave Pogue, Head Coach Rob Wilson, and General Manager Mike Oke. Video compilations of the Petes graduating players: Curtis Trolley, Nick Robertson, Max Grondin, John Parker-Jones, Matt McNamara, and Liam Kirk were featured. The following awards were presented:

Don Marsh Award (most dedication to team) - Matt McNamara -

Ed Redmond Memorial Award (scholastics and hockey) - Tucker Robertson -

Gary Dalliday Award (community service) - John Parker-Jones -

Vince and Lottie Garvey Award (off-ice contribution) - Jack Veitch

At the conclusion of the evening, Oke introduced the Petes community to the newest group of prospects who were drafted at the 2021 OHL Priority Selection and at the 2021 U18 Priority Selection. The entire event was streamed across the Petes official Twitter page.
