Pete Rose to Join Normal CornBelters Coaching Staff on July 9

NORMAL, Ill. - The Normal CornBelters, presented by Illinois Corn Farmers, have announced an addition to their coaching staff for one night this season. Pete Rose will join the CornBelters coaching staff on July 9th against the Schaumburg Boomers. First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m. with the gates opening at 5:35 p.m. The CornBelters will play their first home on Tuesday, May 19 at 6:35 p.m. versus the Gateway Grizzlies ("CEFCU Opening Night").
Rose, the former Cincinnati Reds outfielder, will wear number 14 for the CornBelters that night. The complete details of the night including the possibility of special promotion opportunities will come at a later date. Sponsorship opportunities for the night are also available.
"I remember meeting Pete Rose back in 1978 when I was playing at Florida State," said CornBelters Field Manager Brooks Carey. "He's larger than life and epitomizes what a baseball player is. It will be a thrill for everyone at the stadium that night."
He is currently the Major League leader for games played, hits, at-bats and singles.
Individual tickets for the season are currently on sale. Ticket prices for the season will start at $6 for lawn seats, $8 for bleacher tickets and $12 for box seats.
