"People's Choice" Bobblehead Voting Underway

(York, Pa.): In 2016, the York Revolution promotional schedule will feature the largest number of giveaway items in the franchise's 10 seasons. Among these, the "Celebrate York" series will honor many of York's favorite sons and daughters, and their contributions to sports, history, business, the arts and pop-culture.

With 11 Friday Night home games in 2016, each Friday game will have the Celebrate York theme, combining the Revolution wearing a special 10th Anniversary alternate jersey with a mosaic of submitted fan photos as the back numerals, a special commemorative 10th Anniversary Edition of the York Revolutionary Times free at the gates as usual, and a giveaway item honoring a special aspect of York history.

The second to last giveaway in the series will feature York's most famous current resident: Revolution mascot DownTown! The "type" of DownTown bobblehead to be given away on Friday, September 2 will be determined by a fan popular vote. The choices are all germane to York or York County; Colonial DownTown, Biker DownTown, Farmer DownTown, "Student" DownTown or DownTown wearing the Revolution 10th Anniversary jersey.

The voting is underway now, and available at YorkRevolution.com. The voting will end on Monday, November 30. The look of the winning DT bobblehead will then be unveiled with the rest of the Celebrate York giveaways as the Revolution promotional schedule is finalized.

"DownTown is a renaissance man, there's no doubt about that," said Revolution General Manager John Gibson. "He can do it all, but we wanted our fans to choose the way he best represents York. It's a town with a lot of history, and a lot of facets that make it unique. We can't wait to get these giveaways to our fans, everyone loves a bobblehead," Gibson continued.

The first 2,000 fans attending the Revolution's home opener on Thursday, April 28 will pick up a 10th Anniversary t-shirt, courtesy of The Law Firm of Dale E. Anstine, to kick of the 2016 promotional schedule.

The York Revolution Professional Baseball Club is a member of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, and Atlantic League Champions in 2010 and 2011. 2016 will be the Revolution's 10th anniversary season at Santander Stadium, the centerpiece of Downtown York, PA, located at 5 Brooks Robinson Way.
