
Pensacola wins second straight over Sports

The Pensacola Pelicans won their second straight over the Shreveport Sports 7-3 Saturday night at Fair Grounds Field. It was the third consecutive loss for the Sports.
Shreveport starter Jose Nieto could not get out of the first inning, walking three and giving up one hit as Pensacola took a 1-0 lead.
The Pelicans banged out 12 hits, including a two-run home run by Larry Bethea in the fifth inning as Bethea finished the game with four RBI's. For the second straight now the Sports were able to muster only four hits, two of those came from second baseman Brandon Haygood.
The Sports and Pensacola will close out the three game series Sunday at Fair Grounds Field. Game time will be 2:05.
