Penprase Named American Association Batter of the Week

FARGO, ND - Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks SS Zach Penprase has been named the Pointstreak American Association Batter of the Week for August 13-19, the league office announced today. Pointstreak is the official statistician of the American Association.
Penprase hit an incredible .556 (15-for-27) in seven games for Fargo-Moorhead as the club posted a 6-1 record. He had three doubles, three home runs, eight RBI and eight runs scored. With four walks, Penprase reached base in 19 of his 31 plate appearances (a .613 on-base percentage) over the week and he posted a 1.000 slugging percentage.
This season, Penprase is batting .323 with 12 doubles, three triples, five home runs, 38 RBI and 83 runs scored. He currently leads the American Association in runs scored and stolen bases (40) and is third in on-base percentage (.429) and walks (60).
The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks are off today and open a six-game road trip with the first of three games against the Grand Prairie AirHogs on Tuesday night in Grand Prairie, TX. Fargo-Moorhead's Magic Number to clinch the North Division title is four (4), while the team's Magic Number to clinch a playoff berth is three (3).
