
Pena Picked Up By Pirates

Worcester, MA - The Worcester Tornadoes announced today that the Pittsburgh Pirates have bought the contract of RHP Eddie Pena.
Pena, 25, from Miami, FL led the Tornadoes in appearances with 34, had a record of 6-5 with and ERA 3.42. The submarine style pitcher had an impressive strikeout to walk ratio by fanning 44 opponents while allowing just 18 walks in 79 innings pitched.
Pena joins former teammate Scott Grimes (NY Mets) as the second Worcester and fourth Can-Am League player sold to a major league organization since the conclusion of the 2008 season.
