Pensacola Pelicans News Release
The Pensacola Pelicans announced today that they have signed first baseman Chase Burch to contract for the 2009 season.
Burch joins the Pelicans after a stellar college career, having graduated from Auburn University Montgomery (AUM) in 2008. His college career consisted of two years at Southern Union Community College (AL), and one year at both Southeastern Louisiana University and AUM.
"Chase has hit and produced everywhere he has played," commented Pelicans General Manager Talmadge Nunnari. "I expect him to continue to perform with the Pelicans and fight for a position in the middle of our line-up."
The Fultondale, AL resident compiled a .447 college batting average with 204 runs scored, 331 hits, 74 doubles, 40 homeruns, and 254 RBI.
The Pelicans roster now sits at 19 players: eight pitchers, one catcher, six infielders, and four outfielders.
