Shreveport-Bossier Captains News Release
Shreveport, La. -- The Captains have returned to the Shreveport-Bossier area and have brought a new mascot with them. He has a whole new look but does not have a name. Now it is time for the fans to give him one.
The Captains and the Shreveport Times have put together a "Name the Mascot" contest in order to give the new Captain his moniker, with a big thank you for the best name. The winning entry will win a Grand Prize package consisting of four 2009 season ticket packages, four authentic game caps, and get the chance to participate in the opening night on-field ceremonies. The total value of the package is more than $900.
The Captains front office staff will choose the winning name and notify the winner by email by Feb. 1. If more than one person selects the winning mascot name, the winner will be chosen through a drawing. All persons wishing to enter the contest must have a valid email address.
A link to the contest entry form can be found on the front page of the Shreveport Times' Web site, www.shreveporttimes.com, and on the right side of the Captains' new site, www.sbcaptains.com
The Shreveport-Bossier Captains open the 2009 season in Pensacola on May 14, and will be on the road for the first series of their 2009 campaign. The Shreveport-Bossier Captains' first game at Fair Grounds Field will be May 19, against Grand Prairie.
