
Pelicans Announce Part Two of Promotional Schedule

MYRTLE BEACH, SC - The Myrtle Beach Pelicans, Advanced-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves, unveiled part two of their 2007 promotional schedule today by announcing the dates of premium giveaway items and post-game fireworks shows. All told there will be either a giveaway or fireworks at 19 of the Pelicans' 70 home games this year.
"Anytime more than 25% of your home games treat the fans to a giveaway item or a fireworks show, you know the fan experience is going to be unparalleled," said Pelicans General Manager North Johnson. "I'm very happy with what we're able to offer our fans, and I think they will be too."
The season literally starts with a bang on Thursday, April 5 when the Pelicans host the Wilmington Blue Rocks on Opening Night. Fans will receive free magnet schedules courtesy of Coastal Federal Bank and ESPN Radio "The Team," and after the game will be the first of 12 fireworks nights. Fans will also receive magnet schedules Friday, April 6, and the first 1,000 fans on Wednesday, April 25 get a free 16-oz. tumbler courtesy of the Air Force Reserve and Gator 107.9 FM as the Pelicans take on the Salem Avalanche. Holiday Inn Express will treat fans to a commemorative desktop team stone Saturday, April 28 when the Pelicans play host to the Lynchburg Hillcats.
On Saturday, May 26 the first 1,000 fans to stroll through the gates will take home a limited edition Pelicans baseball card strip thanks to Pizza Hut as the Pelicans square off against the Wilmington Blue Rocks. A few weeks later, all fans will get a collectible, full-color team poster courtesy of Inlet Printing on Friday, June 15 against the Kinston Indians. Fathers get their due on Sunday, June 17 for the Father's Day Celebration against Kinston, featuring a 6:05 p.m. start time. The first 1,000 fathers in attendance will receive a BBQ set courtesy of Verizon and WPDE. Later in the month Broadway at the Beach will give away a stylish beach neck tote to all fans when the Pelicans take on the Potomac Nationals on Wednesday, June 27.
The Fairfield Inn will help locals and visitors alike enjoy the summer on Saturday, July 7, when the first 1,000 fans will receive a free beach bag prior to the game against Wilmington. The giveaway schedule concludes on Saturday, August 4 when the first 1,000 fans will receive a lunch bag courtesy of Angelo's Steak and Pasta as the Pelicans host Salem.
After the Opening Night fireworks the Pelicans will have post-game pyrotechnics on Saturday, April 7, Friday, April 27, Friday, May 11, Sunday, May 27, Friday, June 29, Sunday, July 8, Sunday, July 29, Friday, August 3, Sunday, August 19 and Sunday, September 2. Fans wishing to see all the fireworks games may also purchase the 11-game fireworks pack mini-plan.
