Pelicans Announce 2010 Tryout Dates

Pensacola Pelicans News Release


The Pensacola Pelicans, 2009 South Division Champions, announce today they are holding an open tryout next Saturday, February 27, 2010 from 9 a.m. to noon at Jim Spooner Field at Pelican Park on the campus of the University of West Florida.

For tryout information and registration go to www.pensacolapelicans.com/tryouts.php. The cost is $35.00 for pre-registration and $40.00 on the day. Anyone 18 and older is eligible to register and pre-registration is highly recommended.

The 2009 squad featured several players from the open tryout. LHP Tyler Wilson, recently acquired by the Boston Red Sox, American Association Rookie of the Year Chase Burch, RHP Joey Wedner from Jacksonville University and RHP Bubba Nelson, a former double-A Blue Jay all signed with the Pelicans following their workout.
