Peanuts Announce Interns For 2007 Season

South Georgia Peanuts News Release


The South Georgia Peanuts Professional Baseball Club, presented by Security Bank, is pleased to announce the hiring of four individuals to the team's front office staff. Kevin McAlpin, Shari Golden, Braddrick Teasley and Greg Keel are the newest additions to the Peanuts family. All four individuals will be working as interns during the inaugural 2007 season.

"I really look forward to working with these four individuals," Peanuts GM Keith Michlig said. "All four of these people will bring their unique talents and skills to the Peanuts and will help us immensely throughout the season."

McAlpin is a native of Philadelphia, PA. After spending four years doing operations work for the Philadelphia Phyllis, he made the switch to sports broadcasting. He comes to the Peanuts after broadcasting high school sports and hosting sports-talk on a station just outside of Philadelphia. He is a 2004 graduate of Temple University. In addition to general ball club operational duties, he will provide play-by-play of the middle three innings of all the home games on the team's radio broadcasts which will be heard on "1450 The Fan".

Golden is currently a student at Albany State University. She is in the process of completing a four-year career with the ASU softball team. She has been part of two SIAC conference championship teams in 2005 and 2007. She will be performing in a number of capacities for the team with a focus on Marketing and Group Sales.

Teasley is a recent graduate of Georgia Southern. He graduated with a degree in Sport Management. He is originally from Hartwell, GA. He will perform general tasks for the ball club with a focus on promotions and group sales.

Keel is also a recent graduate of Georgia Southern and also graduated with a degree in Sport Management. He is originally from Brooklet, GA. He will do a lot of work with the Peanuts ticketing operations, group sales and general operational work.

Peanuts spring training is underway as the team is getting prepared for the 2007 inaugural season. All home games will be played at the Paul Eames Sports Complex. Peanuts tickets are currently on sale by contacting the team office at (229) 435-8900! The Peanuts home opener is scheduled for May 24 against the Charlotte County Redfish.
