Auditions To Be Held To Find National Anthem Signers For 2007 Season

PORT CHARLOTTE, FL- The Charlotte County Redfish will hold auditions for National Anthem singers at 10 am on Thursday, May 10 and Monday, May 14 at the Charlotte County Sports Park.
The Redfish are looking for people of all ages to sing the National Anthem before each of their 54 home games. People interested in auditioning should be prepared to sing all or most of the "Star Spangled Banner" in front of the Redfish staff.
"We know that there is a lot of talent in Charlotte County," said Redfish General Manager Steven Tricarico. "We want to provide people in the community with every opportunity to showcase that talent."
People who cannot make either of the two scheduled audition dates should contact the Redfish office to set up another time to audition. Selected anthem singers will be given two free tickets for the game that they will sing the National Anthem.
"There is no greater sign of patriotism than singing our National Anthem in front of thousands of baseball fans," Tricarico said. "The roar of the crowd when the singer hits the high notes gives everyone in the crowd a sense of pride."
The Redfish expect to have an estimated three thousand people in attendance at each game, so the Anthem singer will have a huge audience. The first Redfish game will be May 18 against the South Georgia Peanuts, and the Redfish have still not chosen an Anthem singer for that game.
People with strong voices who want to be the featured National Anthem singer for one or more Redfish games, are encouraged to come to the Charlotte County Sports Park on May 10 or on May 15 in order to try out. Charlotte County Redfish Baseball - Reel In the Fun!
