
PCL Names Hitter, Pitcher of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Pacific Coast League today announced Tommy Everidge of the Sacramento River Cats has been named PCL Player of the Week and Brad Salmon of the Salt Lake Bees the PCL Pitcher of the Week for the week of July 16-19.
Everidge, a California native is in his sixth season with the Oakland A's organization and his first with the River Cats. The 26-year-old infielder started the season with Double-A Midland and earned a promotion to Triple-A in early June after hitting .306 with eight home runs and 53 RBI in 55 games. Since joining the River Cats on June 9 he has hit .343 with seven home runs and 26 RBI in 35 games. He was drafted out of Sonoma State University in the 10th round of the 2004 MLB draft.
Brad Salmon signed as a minor league free agent with the Los Angeles Angels in April and was assigned to Salt Lake. The Florida native is 4-2 with a 4.09 ERA and one save in 23 games including seven starts this season. He was originally drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the 21st round of the 1999 MLB draft.
