Red Wings pitchers gave up five home runs Wednesday in a 10-1 loss to the Pawtucket Red Sox in spring training action from Ft. Myers, Florida. This was the Red Wings first normal exhibition game since Saturday. The previous three days had been intrasquad contests due to bad weather.

Brooks Raley, who is likely to begin the season in the Red Wings rotation, started Wednesday and went four innings allowing just one run - a solo homer to Alex Hassan.

Yohan Pino followed Raley and yielded four runs in two innings including a two-run shot to Daniel Nava. Virgil Vasquez and Mark Hamburger combined to go the rest of the way allowing three more homers.

Evan Bigley delivered the only run with an RBI single in the 7th that scored Brad Nelson who reached on a double.

Dan Rohlfing added two singles and Deibinson Romero, Eric Farris and Danny Santana each chipped in a base hit.

The Red Wings have just four spring training games remaining before heading to Rochester on Monday morning. The season opener is April 3 at 2:05 p.m. in Buffalo. Two days later, the Wings will open Frontier Field for an 18th season with a 2:05 p.m. matinee against the Bisons.

TWINS SPRING NOTES:

RHP Vance Worley, who was outrighted to Triple-A Rochester on Monday was traded to the Pirates on Tuesday for cash considerations. Worley was likely ticketed for the Red Wings bullpen...OF Jermaine Mitchell, scheduled to be with Rochester to open the season, was released by the Twins on Tuesday. He hit .286 with a pair of homers in 43 games with the Wings last season...RHP Matt Guerrier was released by the Twins on Monday; however he re-signed with the club on a minor league deal Tuesday. Guerrier, who spent 2004-2010 with the Twins, will begin the season in extended spring training but will likely report to Triple-A Rochester when ready...RHP Dakota Watts, who posted a 0.74 ERA in 28 games for New Britain last season was released by the Twins on Sunday... The Twins currently have 29 players in Major League camp.
