Windsor Spitfires News Release

(Kingston) Jaroslav Pavelka played well enough in a 4-1 loss to Belleville on Saturday night to get another start less than 24 hours later.

And he made the most of the opportunity, stopping 46 pucks in a 5-3 win over the Frontenacs in Kingston on Sunday.

Alexander Khokhlachev scored twice and added an assist, while Kerby Rychel and Nick Ebert chipped in a goal and a helper each, as the Spitfires made their way home back at .500 (14-14-3-1) on the season.

Rychel's goal was his team-leading 17th. Ebert's was his first of the year into an empty net.

ALL SHORTIES

Kingston's three goals all came while short-handed.

Tyler Brown and Ryan Spooner were in on all of them, with Spooner scoring a pair to increase his OHL-leading total to seven shorties.

His second gave the Fronts a brief 3-2 lead at the 7:30 mark of the second period.

Khokhlachev's first of the afternoon and 14th of the season tied the game at 3-3 later in the same power play.

At 17:01, KoKo picked off an ill-advised Spooner pass in the Kingston zone, before barging in alone and beating Igor Bobkov (24 saves) to the blocker side with a quick wrister. It was the only even-strength goal of the afternoon.

Pavelka made 17 saves in the third to preserve the lead.
