(Vancouver) Fresh off a record-setting performance in the club's dramatic last-second win over the Calgary Stampeders on Saturday night, Lions kicker Paul McCallum has earned Special Teams Players of the Week as announced by the CFL this morning.

Stretching his consecutive successful field goal streak to an astounding 30-straight, the 19-year veteran bounced back from a 49-yard miss in the fourth quarter to connect on a 53-yard boot which put the Leos ahead for good 33-31.

McCallum accounted for 15 points in the win which propelled the club into first place in the West Division and qualified them for post season play for a 15th consecutive season. This is Paul's third Player of the Week nod this season and comes just a week after collecting Special Teams Player of the Month kudos for September. McCallum has been good on 37 of 40 field goal attempts this season (92.5%) and currently sits second on overall scoring with 154 points.

The Lions will look to collect their eighth straight win as they travel to Regina to take on the Saskatchewan Roughriders this Sunday afternoon in their fifth West Division tilt in as many weeks.

The next BC Lions home game is Saturday, October 29th at BC Place versus the Edmonton Eskimos at 7:00 pm presented by NISSAN. Fans can catch all the action on the home of BC Lions football, TEAM 1410 beginning with the pre-game show at 5:00 pm. For tickets visit bclions.com or call 604.589.ROAR.
