
Eskimos Acquire Running Back from 'Riders

(Edmonton) The Edmonton Eskimos have acquired veteran import running back Hugh Charles from the Saskatchewan Roughriders in exchange for a conditional selection in the 2014 CFL Canadian Draft.
Charles has appeared in 20 regular season games over the past four years with the ¬ËRiders, largely in a back-up role. In six games this year Charles has posted 38 carries for 242 yds and 1 TD, 15 receptions for 94 yds and 2 TDs. He ¬â¢ s also contributed on special teams with 14 kickoff returns for 296 yards and four punt returns for 65 yards.
Eskimo Head Coach Kavis Reed says "We're very happy to add Hugh Charles. He ¬â¢s an explosive back with big play potential and will be an ideal compliment to Jerome Messam and Calvin McCarty."
