Week in Review

Tuesday, November 24th Regina Pats 6 Portland Winterhawks 3

Even without Jordan Eberle and Colten Teubert, who were away at the Subway Super Series, the Pats successful road trip continued in Portland on Tuesday night. Brandon Davidson picked up 4 assists and was a +4 as the Pats rolled to a 6-3 win, Hampus Gustafsson and Tomas Hricina each had a pair of goals, while Garrett Mitchell and Matt Strueby added singles.

Wednesday, November 25th Seattle Thunderbirds 5 Regina Pats 2

The Pats 4 game winning streak ended with a 5-2 loss to the Seattle Thunderbirds in the blue and white's first ever appearance at the Showare Center in Kent. Garrett Mitchell scored on a 5-on-3 disadvantage and Matt Strueby also scored shorthanded for the Pats only goals.

Friday, November 27th Regina Pats 4 Everett Silvertips 2

The Everett Silvertips took a 2-0 lead late into the 1st period, only to have Cody Carlson put in his 3rd of the season with just 6 seconds left in the session to cut the lead to 2-1. From there, it was all Jordan Eberle as he scored three straight times to lead the Pats to a 4-2 win.

Saturday, November 28th Spokane Chiefs 4 Regina Pats 0

The six game road trip ended with a 4-0 thud at the hands of the Spokane Chiefs. The Pats put on the pressure early but Chiefs goaltender, James Reid was solid, as he was the rest of the way for the 22 save shutout.

Just the Facts:

Defensive Scoring:3 of the Pats top ten scorers man the Pats blue line with Brandon Davidson leading the way with 22 points, while Colten Teubert has 20 points; while Cody Carlson has 16 points.

16's to the World U-17's: Last week Team West, comprising of players from Manitoba and Saskatchewan, announced their squad that will play in the upcoming World U-17 Hockey Challenge during the holiday season in Timmins, Ontario. Tyler Borstmayer was named as one of the defensive core with Team West. Earlier this week, Team Pacific (made up of Alberta and B.C.) announced their team, and Myles Bell will be manning their defensive core.

NHL Central Scouting: Last week, NHL Central Scouting Bureau (CSB) announced their fall rankings for the CHL, and there were 2 Regina Pats in the top 25 in the WHL. Jordan Weal was the 10th ranked skater, while defenceman, Brandon Davidson was the 22nd ranked skater.

Team WHL Captains: Jordan Eberle and Colten Teubert were both named to play for team WHL at the Subway Super Series on November 25th in Victoria, B.C. on Wednesday night. Colten Teubert was named captain of Team WHL, while Jordan Eberle was named an assistant. The Pats were without both players for their game in Portland Tuesday night and in Seattle on Wednesday. Team WHL defeated Team Russia 2-1 in Victoria in the game Teubert and Eberle played in.

Eberle topping the charts: Jordan Eberle is currently the Pats active leader in goals with 128 for his Pat career. This puts him into the top 20 all time and pushes past Tim Iannone (82-86) for 12th all-time, and trails Brian Varga (78-81) by 1 goal and is 6 away from climbing into the top ten. Eberle's 254 points pushes him past Doug Trapp (82-85), and is 2 points shy of Gerry Minor (74-78).

Sportsman's Dinner is around the corner:

It's not until January 28th, but the Regina Pats Sportsman's Dinner is back this season, in conjunction with another Pats/Warriors alumni weekend. The dinner is on Thursday, January 28th, with tickets available at the Pats office.

Goals for Kids:

With the Pats scoring 12 times this week gives them a season total of 116; the Prairie Mobile Communications "goals for kids" fund is now up to $1740. $15 from every goal scored will be donated to the Ranch Ehrlo Outdoor Hockey League, courtesy of Prairie Mobile Communications.

Saturday, December 5th Brandon Wheat Kings @ Regina Pats

The Regina Pats "Toque and Teddy Bear Toss" night, brought to you by Budget Rent a Car is back again this Christmas season. Bring you new toque, mittens or teddy bear to the game on Saturday night, and when the Pats score their first goal, throw it on the ice. The next week, players will be delivering the goods to local charities.

K-9 will be celebrating his 31st birthday and to celebrate, there will be a mascot hockey game brought to you by Northgate Mall.
