Week In Review:

Friday January 9th Regina Pats 3 vs. Swift Current Broncos 5

The Pats welcomed the return of Jordan Eberle and Colten Teubert from their stint with the gold medal winning Canadian National Junior team as well as Jordan Weal and Dominick Favreau from the World U-17 Hockey Challenge. It was also the debut of newly acquired forward Matt Robertson, and he came through early as he and Matt Strueby scored early in the first staking the Pats to a 2-0 lead. The Broncos scored late in the 1st, then scored four more times and came out on top 5-3 with Jordan Eberle adding a shorthanded marker in the third.

Sunday January 11th Regina Pats 3 vs. Edmonton Oil Kings 0

The Pats broke out of a long losing streak with a solid 3-0 performance over the Edmonton Oil Kings. Brett Leffler and Tomas Hricina scored in the first to push the Pats to a 2-0 lead and newly picked up defenceman Jesse Dudas scored in the third to finish the Oil Kings off. Linden Rowat stopped all 32 shots for his second shutout of the season and his 11th of his career, pushing him past Josh Harding for top spot on the all-time Pat shutout leaders.

Pats Injuries:

Matt Delahey (Shoulder) - 4-6 weeks

The Pats have lost 67 man games due to injury.

Who's Hot?:

*Jordan Eberle has 10 points over his last 7 games and goals in 4 of his last 6 games

*Jordan Weal has 8 assists in his last 9 games.

*Brett Leffler has six points (4g 2a) in his last 4 games.

*Victor Bartley and Garrett Mitchell are the only two Pats to play in all 46 games this season

*Matt Robertson has 3 points in his first two games as a Pat.

Milestones:

*Jordan Eberle is 26 points from hitting the 200 mark for his WHL career he is also the current active Pat career leader in goals (94), points (174), game winning goals (22), and power play goals (34).

*Linden Rowat is now the all-time Pat leader in shut-outs with 11, passing Josh Harding for top spot.

*Brett Leffler 3 goals away from 50 in his WHL career.

*Victor Bartley hit the 150 point mark with an assist Sunday night against the Oil Kings

*Matt Strueby is 2 goals away from 30 career WHL markers

*Mitch Czibere is 2 assists away from 50 in his WHL career.

Trade Deadline Week:

The Pats were not very busy during trade deadline week, making a pair of deals. On Tuesday they send Michael MacAngus and a 4th round pick in the 2009 WHL bantam draft to the Prince Albert Raiders in exchange for 20 year old left winger Matt Robertson.

Friday night, the Pats made their second and final trade sending a 4th round pick in the 2010 WHL bantam draft to Swift Current for 20 year old defenceman Jesse Dudas.

With trades and players returning from their international tournaments, the Pats re-assigned five players this week:

Players shine in their debuts:

Matt Robertson and Jesse Dudas made their debut this week in a Regina Pats jersey and they made an impact right tout of the shoot. In his first two games, Robertson has a goal and two assists, while Dudas had a goal in his first game as a Pat Sunday night against the Oil Kings.

This Week:

The Pats are on the ice this week three time against their two biggest rivals in the East Division, Tuesday night they will host the division leading Saskatoon Blades, then Friday night they will begin a home and home series with the Moose Jaw Warriors with the second half Saturday in the Friendly City.
