Regina Pats News Release

Regina, Saskatchewan - The Regina Pats have officially signed Tyler Borstmayer and Andrew Rieder to standard Western Hockey League contracts.

Tyler Borstmayer (St. Brieux, Sask.) was taken with the Pats 2nd round pick, 39th overall. The 6'5", 187 pound defenceman spent last season with Tisdale in the Centre Four league, picking up 19 goals and 41 assists for 60 points.

Andrew Rieder (Regina, Sask.) was a training camp invitee in 2007, and proved that he could be a future member of the Regina Pats. This season, he capitalized on another strong camp, and officially becomes a member of the Pats. With the Regina Pat Canadians last season he had 8 goals and 7 assists for 15 points.

Regina Pats General Manager, Brent Parker is excited to lock up both players, "We are thrilled that Tyler and Andrew have committed to our organization. Tyler as well as Myles Bell will give us a nice one two punch in a few years, and we believe that Andrew will be a good two-way forward as he matures."

The Pats have also reassigned 2008 1st round draft pick Myles Bell to the Calgary AAA Flames of the AMHL.
