
Pats Acquire Wilson from Brandon for Michels

Regina, Sask. - The Regina Pats have traded 2005-born forward Matteo Michels to the Brandon Wheat Kings in exchange for 2005-born forward Anthony Wilson.
"We are pleased to add Anthony Wilson to our hockey club," Regina Pats VP, Hockey Operations & GM Alan Millar said. "We like the skillset and heaviness he adds to our lineup. I'd also like to thank Matteo for his time with our team. He's a great kid, and we wish him the best."
Wilson, 18, has tallied eight points (2G-6A) in 16 games with the Wheat Kings this season. The Swift Current, Sask. product split last season between the Victoria Royals and Wheat Kings after he was acquired on November 24, 2022. In the 2022-23 season, the 5-foot-10, 194 lb. forward recorded 16 points (7G-9A) in 58 games. Wilson was previously drafted by the Royals in the third round of the 2020 WHL Prospects Draft.
Michels, 18, played 115 games with the Regina Pats over parts of three seasons with the club, recording 23 points (7G-16A). The Colleyville, TX product tallied 11 points (5G-6A) in 20 games with the Pats this season, as well as one short-handed goal. The 5-foot-11, 170 lb. forward was drafted by the Pats in the first round of the 2020 U.S. Priority Draft.
The Regina Pats organization would like to welcome Anthony and his family to the City of Regina, and hockey club. The Pats would also like to thank Matteo for his contributions to the community and team over the last three seasons.
