Albany, NY - November 29, 2007 - The Albany Patroons most recent transaction includes the signing of Dwayne Shackleford.
Shackleford, a 5'10" Guard, is a 2006 graduate of Southern Cal. He finished his collegiate career at Southern Cal after playing his first two seasons at Allegany College in Coumberland, Maryland. Shackleford's college highlights include earning All-Conference, All-Region and NJCAA All-American Honors while starring at Allegany College. After overcoming arthroscopic surgery his Junior season, he scored in double figures four times, scored 11 points in games at Stanford and Oregon and tallied twelve points and captured five rebounds against UCLA. He started four career games at USC.
Shackleford went on to play professional basketball in Germany, where he appeared in 23 games and scored 17 ppg. His next move was to the Summer Pro-Am League in Long Beach (SLAM) in July of 2007. Prior to signing with the Patroons, Dwayne played in the Utah Flash (D-League) training camp and was later drafted by the Utah Flash.
