Patroons Add Defense to Roster

Albany, NY (October 31, 2007) - The Albany Patroons are pleased to announce the signing of 6'6", forward, Michael Parker.

Parker, a standout defensive player at Clover Park High School continued to star on defensive at Pierce Community College. He was named to the NWAACC All-Star Team and received Defensive Player of the Year award.

Michael continued to shine during his next two seasons at Evergreen State College. He won several awards, including Cascade Conference Newcomer of the Year (2001-2), Defensive Player of the Year (2001-2), All-Conference Honorable Mention (2001-2), All-Defensive Team (2002-3), All Conference (2002-3), and NAIA All-American Honorable Mention (2002-3). Additionally, Parker tied the season record for Most Blocked Shots in a game (5), and set season and career records for Most Blocked Shots (69).

Since graduating in 2002, Michael has played in Limerick Ireland (2004) and in Bellingham, WA for the Bellingham Slam of the ABA (2005-2007). Prior to signing with the Patroons, Parker played in the IBL with the Portland Chinooks (2007).
