Daleo Re-Signs Holmes

Minot, ND - November 5, 2007 - The Minot Skyrockets are pleased to announce the signing of Sidney Holmes, pending league approval. Holmes is a 6-7 forward from Lewis University (NCAA2) in Illinois.

He first played for Head Coach Chris Daleo at Barat College (NAIA) in Lake Forest, Illinois. Holmes averaged a double-double (14.4 ppg and 10.4 rpg) his sophomore year at Barat and then transferred to Lewis University where he averaged 10.6 points and 9.1 rebounds in 2002-03.

Holmes had a second stint with Coach Daleo when he was drafted by him in the 2004 CBA Rookie Draft. The Rockford Lightning selected him in the 4th round (29th overall). Holmes played in 41 games his rookie year and averaged 3.7 points and 3.4 rebounds. He was also second in the league in field goal percentage (59.8%). In 2005-2006, Holmes averaged 7.4 points and 8.6 rebounds. He was fifth in the league in rebounding and second in offensive rebounds. He was also fourth in field goal percentage (58.2%).

Last season, Holmes played overseas in Finland and again averaged a double-double with 13.3 points and 10.1 rebounds. He also had 2.2 steals per game and shot 50.9% on field goals.

"Sidney is a familiar face. He played for me in college and in Rockford. He was always a fan favorite, and it is comforting to know that I have him signed," said Coach Daleo.
