Bridgewater, NJ - The Somerset Patriots (3-0, 38-28) defeated the Road Warriors (0-3, 17-49) 2-1 in 14 innings at TD Bank Ballpark on Sunday evening.

With two-outs in the bottom of the 14th inning, Mike Fransoso hit a walk off infield single to second base to win the game for the Patriots.

"I was just trying to end the game any way I could," said Fransoso. "He surprised me there with three fastballs that I didn't see coming so I got myself in an 0-2 hole. I just tried to put the ball in play and get on base and luckily he missed it there."

The Road Warriors broke the scoreless tie in the top of the fifth inning on a sacrifice fly by Alfredo Silverio.

The Patriots tied up the game in the bottom of the sixth inning on an RBI double by Kyle Roller.

Vince Molesky (3-1) picked up the win, allowing two hits and striking out three batters in two innings pitched. Raul Rivera-Alicea (2-8) suffered the loss, allowing a run on two hits in 2.2 innings pitched.

The 2018 Somerset Patriots Season presented by Ford will return home after the All-Star Break on Friday, July 13th with a 7:05 pm game against the Lancaster Barnstormers.
