Patriots Spring Training Will Take Place In Flemington,NJ

The Four-Time Atlantic League Champion Somerset Patriots have announced that the team will host its Spring Training for the second consecutive season at the Jack Cust Baseball Academy in Flemington, NJ this April.

Somerset Patriots Spring Training will take place from Monday, April 13th through Monday, April 20th. This year, the Patriots will be playing exhibition games against the Lancaster Barnstormers and the York Revolution, who are staying north this spring as well.

All Spring Training workouts and games taking place at Jack Cust Baseball Academy are open to the public.

"We felt that last year's Spring Training was a great success at getting our guys ready for the season. We are excited to once again host Spring Training at the Jack Cust Baseball Academy as we get ready to defend our championship this season," said Patrick McVerry, President/ General Manager of the Somerset Patriots Baseball Club.

The Jack Cust Baseball Academy is the premier baseball instruction destination on the East Coast, providing state-of-the-art facilities and serves as the Official Training Site of the Somerset Patriots. The Jack Cust Baseball Academy features a full sized baseball field with Astro-Turf and the dimensions of 310' down the lines and 390' to center field.

Seasonal Job Fair At Ballpark On Saturday, March 21st

The Four-Time Atlantic League Champion Somerset Patriots are looking to hire game day staff, mascots, and concession workers at a job fair scheduled for Saturday, March 21st from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at Commerce Bank Ballpark.

Individuals interested in working at the ballpark this summer can apply for positions as ushers, ticket takers, promotional staff, bat boys, mascots, customer service representatives, maintenance workers, Family Fun Zone staff, grounds crew, merchandise, and program vendors.

Centerplate, the concessions provider for the Somerset Patriots, will be interviewing for suite attendants, daytime warehouse workers, cooks, kitchen attendants, concession stand managers, cashiers, vendors, and concession stand workers at the job fair.

Job seekers can help make the process run more smoothly by filling out an employment application before arriving to the event. Applications can be downloaded by visiting the Employment section of the team's official website, www.somersetpatriots.com.

The 2009 season begins at Commerce Bank Ballpark on Thursday, April 23rd and will continue through Sunday, September 20th. The Patriots will play 70 regular season home games and host some additional special events throughout the year.

New Bender's Corner With Sean Smith Now On-Line

A brand new episode of the Somerset Patriots website show "Bender's Corner" is now showing on-line at www.somersetpatriots.com.

In this episode, Patriots radio broadcaster Brian Bender interviews center fielder Sean Smith. The interview took place a few days before the playoffs began.

Bender also asks a few players what actor would play them in a movie about their lives. There are some very interesting answers.
