Pat McCarthy Hired as Lehigh Valley IronPigs Radio Broadcaster

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs have officially hired Pat McCarthy as their radio broadcaster for the 2019 season. McCarthy becomes just the second "Voice of the IronPigs" in team history. He will broadcast all home and road contests on the IronPigs Radio Network. Matt Provence had served in this role from the team's inception in 2008 until the end of the 2018 season.

McCarthy, 23, is entering his second season with the IronPigs and third overall season in Minor League Baseball. He served as a media relations and broadcasting assistant with the IronPigs in 2018 and with the Reading Fightin Phils in 2017. The 2017 graduate of The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) has handled broadcasts for Villanova University, University of Pennsylvania, Princeton University, St. Joseph's University and TCNJ.

He currently serves as the play-by-play voice for St. Joseph's men's and women's basketball on the A10 Network as well as for Princeton Men's Basketball on radio broadcasts. He also spends time as a spotter with both CBS Sports and Westwood One Radio for NFL and NCAA basketball games.

McCarthy's father, Tom, has been the television voice for the Philadelphia Phillies since 2008. Additionally, Tom currently broadcasts for the NFL on CBS, MLB for FOX, NCAA basketball/football for CBS College Sports Network and NFL/NCAA basketball for Westwood One Radio.
