October 31, 2002 - Atlantic Coast Hockey League 2 (ACHL 2)
St. Pete Parrots News Release
ST. PETERSBURG...The St. Pete Parrots hit the road Friday to play the Cape Fear Fire Antz followed by a trip to Knoxville (TN) the following evening. Following a 0-2 weekend, the Parrots will once again shuffle the roster and re-group.
Despite their record, the Parrots boast two standouts in the overall Atlantic Coast Hockey League standings thus far. Janis Tomans will enter this weekend in second place in most goals scored behind Knoxville's Kevin Swider. Tomans has 7 points on the season with 5 goals and 2 assists. Goaltender Dan McIntyre boasts the second highest save percentage in the league at .923 and the second highest number of saves. McIntyre has also logged the most minutes of any goaltenders in the ACHL.
New additions to the team include Forward Tom McMongale and Defenseman Luke Volk. Additional signings and waivers are expected before the Friday match-up and will be announced later in the week. The team returns home November 7 against Cape Fear at Bayfront at 7:30 and the following night against Jacksonville.
