STOCKTON – Zack Parker extended his scoreless innings pitched streak to fifteen by pitching eight scoreless innings in Stockton and led the Oaks to a 1-0 win in Stockton.

Parker retired the first seven Ports batters in the game. After that streak was broken by a Brandon Pack single in the third, Parker set down the next twelve consecutive batters.

Stockton starter John Barnett and reliever Kelvin Jimenez combined to allow no earned runs in the game. Bernett worked the first five innings and was saddled with the loss.

Visalia stranded two runners on base in each the third and fourth innings, but in the fifth finally broke through with the game's only run. It came on a bases loaded ground ball hit to the third baseman by Jayson Nix. Sean Barker scored to put Visalia in front, 1-0.

Jimenez allowed only one hit and three walks after the fifth inning.

Jace Wrigley, who joined the Oaks earlier this week following from extended spring training gave up a walk and a single in the ninth inning but prompted Jason Botts to hit into a game ending double play. The next batter would have been G. J. Raymondo, who went 0-for-3 against Parker but came into the game leading the California League with a .396 batting average.

Top of the Line: Jace Wrigley has pitched the last two seasons at the Double-A level or higher. He finished last season with Colorado Springs, the Rockies' Triple-A affiliate.

Parker and the Ports: Zack Parker has allowed two runs in sixteen innings over two starts against Stockton this season.

First pitch is scheduled for 5:05 p.m. The Radisson Pre Game show will begin at 4:52 p.m. on AM 1270 KJUG.
