CINCINNATI, Ohio - Pierre Parenteau scored the game-winning goal 2:52 into overtime to lift the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks to a 2-1 victory over the Syracuse Crunch Saturday at Cincinnati Gardens.
Parenteau, stationed in the slot on a Ducks power-play, took a feed from Michael Holmqvist and fired a slapshot past Syracuse goaltender Andrew Penner for his first career overtime goal.
Cory Pecker also scored for Cincinnati, which has gone 11-0-0-1 in its last 12 home games. Tim Brent assisted on Pecker's goal to extend his point streak to five games.
Frederic Cassivi stopped 26 shots for the Ducks, who moved to within five points of second-place Chicago in the West Division.
Matthias Trattnig scored the lone goal in the first period and Penner finished with 30 saves for Syracuse, which has lost its last two games after going 6-1-0-0 in its previous seven.
