Pardo & Pino Earn MASL POTW Honors

SAN DIEGO - The Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) announced today the Week 6 Players of the Week winners.

San Diego Sockers' defenseman Guerrero Pino and goalkeeper Boris Pardo locked up the honors in the backfield. Pardo had 17 saves and only three goals allowed for the Sockers in their win against the visiting Tacoma Stars. Pino had one goal and eight blocked shots. The Sockers remain undefeated in the 2023-24 campaign and sit atop the Western Conference.

Kansas City's Zach Reget earned the Offensive Player of the Week title after scoring game-winning goals in back-to-back games. His weekend stat sheet read four goals, two assists, and two game-winning goals. The Comets and Reget swept the home-and-home series with their in-state rivals, the St. Louis Ambush.

The Sockers home game on Sunday, January 7, has been postponed due to a water main break at Pechanga Arena. The team returns to play the defending MASL Champion Chihuahua Savage on Sunday, January 14, 5:05pm kickoff for Kick Cancer Night. The game will feature a Sockers Belt Bag giveaway (while supplies last), a San Diego Blood Bank Blood Drive from 12:00-5:00pm in the parking lot, and a 50/50 raffle benefiting Oncology & Kids.
