Beverly Hills, MI - Saturday, January 3, 2009, was the season opening game for the Detroit Panthers vs Mid-Michigan Destroyers. The Panthers had a searing win of 111-109. From the start the Panthers didn't disappoint their fans. The game was close at the end of every quarter but it was the last second of the game that had the crowd on their feet. With one second left on the clock. Willie Mitchell received the ball in 4-point scoring range and made the Hail Mary Shot that won the game. The Panthers' season record is 1-0.
