CARSON, Calif. (Thursday, March 1, 2007) - Mexican National Team forward and former Chivas USA standout Juan Francisco Palencia was a surprise guest at Chivas USA's morning training session today at The Home Depot Center.

Following the Tricolores' 3-1 victory over Venezuela Wednesday night in San Diego -- in which Palencia came on as a second-half sub -- 'El Gatillero' arrived at University Field 1 to watch the second half of Chivas USA's scrimmage against Cal State Fullerton and say hello to old friends.

"I was in California, and I stopped by to take care of a few things and say hello to my friends at Chivas USA," said the Pumas UNAM forward. "I hope the preseason continues to go well and I wish the guys the best of luck for the season ahead"

Palencia chatted with Chivas USA Head Coach Preki and the rest of the squad, including recent U.S. National Team debutant Jonathan Bornstein. He also discussed the possibility of Chivas USA and Pumas facing off one day in the SuperLiga, or in a friendly match in the near future.
