Chillicothe Paints News Release
The Chillicothe Paints Professional Baseball Club signed Dorian (D. J.) Dixon to a contract on Wednesday afternoon.
Dixon (5-10, 195), primarily a catcher, can also play third and first base, according to Paints' skipper, Glenn Wilson. "We like Dixon because he's versatile and bats from the left side," said Wilson.
Dixon signed with the San Francisco Giants' organization in 2004 and played for two years in the Giants' farm system. He batted .317 in his initial season with the Giants' rookie team in the Arizona League. In 2005, he was used mostly as a designated hitter and batted .297 for Salem-Keizer in the Northwest League.
Dixon, age 23, is from Carlsbad, California and a graduate of Cal State-Bernardino where he majored in Graphic Design and Marketing.
