Padres Select INF Logan Forsythe from Triple-A Tucson

May 4, 2011 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Tucson Padres News Release

The third Tucson Padres player to be called to the Major Leagues is Logan Forsythe. The Tucson infielder had his contract purchased by the Major League club today, one night after Orlando Hudson left San Diego's game with Pittsburgh with a hamstring strain. Forsythe's first game will be his Major League debut.

Forsythe, 24, has hit .291 (25-for-86) with five doubles, four home runs, 15 RBI, 20 runs scored and two stolen bases in 22 games played for the T-Pads. Selected by the Padres in the supplemental-round of the 2008 First-Year Player Draft (46th overall), he has hit .279 (277-for-993) with 50 doubles, seven triples, 18 home runs, 114 RBI and 173 runs scored in 273 games played over four minor league seasons.

Wade LeBlanc has had two stints with the San Diego Padres this year, and the former Tucson closer Evan Scribner has made two appearances for San Diego, posting a 3.00 ERA, since being recalled in late April.
