
Padres Beat Chihuahuas 13-9 Thursday

The San Diego Padres beat the El Paso Chihuahuas 13-9 in Thursday night's exhibition game at Southwest University Park. There were eight home runs hit between the two teams.
The Chihuahuas took a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning on a two-run home run by Hunter Renfroe and an RBI single by Yeison Asencio. The Padres went ahead 4-3 in the second with a rally that included a two-run home run by Jabari Blash.
The Chihuahuas regained the lead with a two-run bottom of the second inning but fell behind 7-5 when the Padres scored three runs in the top of the fourth. After El Paso tied the game 7-7 in the bottom of the fourth, the Padres went ahead for good when Travis Jankowski hit a tiebreaking two-run homer in the top of the sixth.
Blash went 4-for-5 with two home runs and five RBIs for San Diego. Renfroe hit two home runs as well and drove in six for El Paso. The Padres hit three solo homers in the top of the ninth (Adam Rosales, Trae Santos, Austin Hedges).
