Green Bay, WI (September 2, 2015) - The Green Bay Blizzard were determined not to let their 2015 Team MVP go into free agency in October. On September 1, just one month ahead of the deadline, the Green Bay Blizzard re-signed defensive back Jamie Bender for the 2016 season.

Bender is returning to the Blizzard after a breakout year in the IFL. Last season he earned two "Player of the Week" titles and First Team All-IFL recognition. Bender finished his season with impressive numbers. He had 8 interceptions and 2 fumble recoveries, one of each were returned for a touchdown. He also finished top 5 in solo tackles during the 2015 season.

Blizzard coach Tommie Williams is glad to have a player like Bender back on the roster. "Bender brings a competitive edge to our defense and leadership qualities to the team. He knows the direction we are headed and believes in our new motto, 'no one is bigger than the team'."

At the end of last IFL season, Bender received a second work out with the Green Bay Packers. He keeps that in the back of his mind as he prepares for the 2016 IFL season, he knows all it takes is one call and he could be across the street.
