San Rafael Pacifics News Release
SAN RAFAEL, Calif. - San Rafael Pacifics right-hander Tyler Pearson was outstanding in his first home start of 2013, as the 28-year-old struck out 9 in seven sharp innings, and the Pacifics won 5-3 over the Vallejo Admirals at Albert Park on Thursday night.
Pearson improved to 2-1 on the young season, and whittled down the ugly 5.40 ERA he toted to the mound at first pitch. San Rafael's Kyle Dhanani hit his third home run of the year to start the scoring for the Pacifics, who added single runs in the second, fourth and fifth. The Pacifics opened up a 5-0 lead in the sixth on a two-out, two-run single by center fielder Zack Pace.
Short-stop Danny Gonzalez was 2 for 4 with an RBI and a run, and second baseman Price Kendall reached base three times for San Rafael (9-3). The Pacifics won their sixth consecutive contest, and stayed unbeaten at home in 2013 (3-0).
Vallejo (3-7) finally broke through against Pearson in the seventh, then tacked on two more against the San Rafael bullpen in the eighth. Colin Adam picked up his first save of the season for San Rafael, working around a one-out error and striking out two.
The fourth game of this six-game series is Friday, first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Tickets and information is available at www.Pacificsbaseball.com.
