Pacifics To Host Historic Boxing Night Featuring Live In-Game Bout

San Rafael - This Friday, August 3, the San Rafael Pacifics will host Boxing Night in Marin, featuring a live 3-round boxing match between innings and a pre-game ceremony honoring boxing legends and Marin natives Paul Nave and Hall of Fame broadcaster Barry Tompkins.
Marin County's only boxing academy, the Novato Boxing Club will provide two of their fighters for the on-field boxing match: 2017 Golden Glove Champion, Sebastian Marconni and independent boxer, Ronnie Chambers.
Fighters, trainers and coaches from the club will provide boxing lessons during Friday's game.
"I've had a few fights of my own at Albert Park and just love the place,"Â said Nave. "To have a night dedicated to boxing and to share it with the great Barry Tompkins along with hosting a live prize fight is a great way to help promote the sport of boxing and I just can't thank the Pacifics enough for making this all happen."
The boxers will fight on the field between home plate and first base during the first three innings of the baseball game. Paul Nave will serve as the referee of the match and will score the fight himself while Hall of Famer Tompkins will call the fight from down on the field.
Friday's game will start at 7:05. Tickets are available at pacificsbaseball.com.
