SAN RAFAEL, Calif. - The newly rebranded Bay Cal Lumberacks (formerly East Bay) took the first game of a three-game set, 5-3, on Saturday at Wilson Park and in doing so snapped the San Rafael Pacifics' 10-game win streak.

San Rafael (46-15) starter Logan Odom (8-1) had his poorest outing of the season and lost for the first time in 2013. He struggled with his command, allowing seven hits in six innings while hitting four and walking two. He struck out six to keep the Pacific Association lead with 82.

Lumberjacks (6-26) starter Marquis Pettis held San Rafael (46-15) to just six hits over seven and a third innings of work to help extend his ball club's winning streak to five.

Former Pacific Steve Detwiler powered the Lumberjacks offense with a three-RBI day. He doubled to right in the first to drive a pair and claim a 2-1 lead. He added a sacrifice fly in the third. Mike Taylor's RBI single in the fifth made it 4-1 and Sabian Duplessis scored in the eighth on a JJ Whetsel wild pitch.

San Rafael took the lead, though short lived, in the first. Price Kendall was hit by a pitch to begin the game and Chase Fontaine drew a walk, then the two executed a double steal. With one out, Kendall scored on a Johnny Woodard sacrifice fly but the Pacifics were unable to add on.

The Pacifics didn't make much noise again until Matt Quintero launched a two-out, two-run homer in the ninth with Maikel Jova aboard and the Pacifics sent three more batters up in the inning but left Zack Pace and Price Kendall stranded.

Outside of his RBI in the first, Woodard went hitless on Saturday and saw both his seven-game hit streak and streak of 16 consecutive games reaching base safely snapped.

The two teams will meet again for a doubleheader on Sunday, August 11 at Wilson Park in Vallejo, Calif. First pitch is slated for 5:00 p.m.
