
Pacific FC Signs Centre-Back Amer Didic

Langford, BC - Pacific Football Club signed Amer Didic to the club today, the six-foot-four centre-back heads to the Island from FC Edmonton where he has played for three seasons.
"Amer is one of the best central defenders in the Canadian Premier League," said James Merriman, Head Coach, Pacific FC. "He brings good experience and leadership qualities to our locker room."
Born in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Didic emigrated to Edmonton in his youth where he played for Sherwood Park District SA and the FC Edmonton Academy program. Known as being agile for his imposing size, Didic spent four years at Baker College in Kansas where he was a two-time NAIA All American. In his last year in college, he was named Heart of America Athletic Conference MVP and defensive player of the year.
Following his collegiate career, Didic, spent time with Sporting Kansas City between 2016 - 2018, and in December 2019 signed with United Soccer League club San Antonio FC until joining FC Edmonton in April 2019.
In January 2020, Didic made history as the first Canadian Premier League player to hit the pitch for the Canadian men's team in a friendly against Barbados. In a highlight of that match, Didic headed in a corner kick contributing to Canada's 4-1 win
"Didic is not only a physical presence on the pitch but can also play the style of football we want to play here at Pacific," said Merriman.
