Pacific Association Announces Playoff Format

San Rafael Pacifics News Release
The Pacific Association of Professional Baseball announced today it's official playoff format for the 2013 Championship Season. It is listed below:
Friday August 23rd
Game A Seed # 5 vs. Seed # 4 @ Vallejo 7pm
Game B* Seed # 2 vs. Seed # 1 @ San Rafael 7pm
Saturday August 24th
Game C Winner Game A vs. Seed # 3 @ Vallejo 5pm
Game D* Seed # 2 vs. Seed # 1 @ San Rafael 5pm
Sunday August 25th
Game E Winner Game C vs. # 2 Seed @ San Rafael 1pm
CHAMPIONSHIP GAME Winner Game E vs. # 1 Seed @ San Rafael 5pm
*Please note: Games B & D are a playoff series for the #1 Seed. Seed # 2 must win both games to secure # 1 Seed. # 1 Seed needs to win one of the games for # 1 Seed.
Commissioner Mike Marshall had this to say about the new format:
"I'm very pleased with the way things are going to look this year. I believe this format gives all 5 teams a chance to win while at the same time rewarding regular season performances."
The official league website (www.pacproleague.com) is going to be putting up a projected playoff bracket each day starting next week. Entering July 26th, the seeding would look like this:
1. San Rafael Pacifics (36-12)
2. Maui Na Koa Ikaika (33-18)
3. Hawaii Stars (21-27)
4. Vallejo Admirals (15-21)
5. East Bay Lumberjacks (1-21)
